RQ PRODUCT FAQs

On this page we detail answers to some FAQs relating to purchasing of RQ PRODUCT. Specifically we cover the media options for purchasing of photos, followed by shipping options for all RQ PRODUCTS.

How are the photos printed?

We draw on the services of Print Art to print, package and ship nationwide in New Zealand and internationally. We use Print Art’s services because it removes double handling, provides quality assurance and enables us to reduce our costs.

We print all photos using Print Art’s giclée printers. Remarkably, these printers use a combination of 12 different inks to reproduce millions of colours. In fact, some of these colours were almost impossible to achieve when using older 4 colour CMYK machines.

What is the difference between the media options?

Moreover, there are two paper options to choose from when purchasing an RQ Product print.

Photographic paper

Firstly, the ‘photographic paper’ option uses 310gsm traditional fibre-based photo paper. Print Art describes this paper as ideal for high quality black and white printing because it offers an exceptional wide gamut for colour, detail and tonality.

Fine art paper

Secondly, our ‘fine art’ paper option uses Hahnemühle German Etching. This is a natural white, 100% cotton paper that guarantees archival standards. Print Art describes the etching paper as providing a distinct textured surface. It meets the highest industry standards regarding density, colour gamut, colour graduation and image sharpness, while still having the feeling of genuine art paper. We explored the use of this paper for the watercolour-like quality it gives to our photos.

Note: We are not currently offering canvas or framing services but will look to doing this if there is demand.

How are the photos packaged?

We ship prints containing small A4-A3 sized images flat packed with protective packaging. Specifically, each print is encased in high-quality crystal cellophane sleeves with backing card. We carefully role larger A2-AO sized prints and courier them in a mail tube.

How is the clothing packaged?

RQ Product strives to use sustainable packaging where we can. Your clothing will arrive wrapped in tissue and encased in a R3pack. Both are able to be composted. Simply remove the postage label from the R3pack and grab the tissue and chuck in your own compost pin.

What are you shipping options and delivery times?

We aim to run a sustainable business and do not stockpile photos and clothing. Therefore, we make to order in most cases. Please allow for at least a two week turnaround if you live in New Zealand, and add on 2-5 working days if your reside elsewhere.

For all New Zealand based customers there is a $10 flat rate for shipping of all RQ PRODUCTs. If you spend over $100, there is free shipping. We deliver locally in Raglan for $1.50, Waikato region for $7.00. If you live in Ruapuke you can pick up for free.

RQ PRODUCT delivers to Australia for $10-25 depending on whether you have ordered a small or normal size bundle. For example, a small bundle equates to a photo print of A4 / A3 size or singular clothing product. All other bundles cost $25 for delivery Australia-wide.
